Dance Exploration, LLC in Denver, is Colorado's Premier in-school mobile dance and performing arts enrichment program and home of the 'Dance to Learn!'® Curriculum! We make dance education accessible to EVERYONE! We bring dance to you! Dance Exploration is leaping and jumping into local schools across Denver and surrounding metro areas teaching our one of a kind 'Dance to Learn!'® Curriculum. Our Curriculum is play based and designed to teach the whole child. With segments of class focused on Learning, Discovery, Expression, Acceptance and Movement we've created 6 Methods of Dance™ that are sure to compliment any classroom and enhance the students' overall learning experience! 

Dance Exploration's Preschool and Early Childhood Program, is a journey into the introduction of basic dance movements and principles. Using the 'Dance to Learn!' ® Curriculum Methods, we've created a program that combines dance techniques with early childhood development. The method behind our core curriculum is guaranteed to keep our young minds stimulated, curious, and amused with their dance education as well as continuously making progress in their development.

BOOK DANCE EXPLORATION AT YOUR SCHOOL! 

'Dance to Learn!'® is a valuable addition to any early head start, preschool, pre-k or early elementary location. Our 6 Methods of Dance™ are designed to teach the whole child at all stages of their development. 'Dance to Learn!'® classes build critical and creative thinking skills, enhance creative expression and introduce social-emotional skills such as patience, waiting turns and sharing. 'Dance to Learn!'® Program goals and outcomes align with the Head Start School Readiness Goals for Preschool Children as well as state and national standards for Dance Education. ​ Classes are structured for success! The 'Dance to Learn!'® Class Flow is choreographed to follow the natural progressions of a child's movement and learning abilities to ensure mastery of class objectives and movement studies. 'Dance to Learn!'® classes brighten a child's school day by waking the brain and body up with lively, and educational dance based movement games and activities. Class is led by a passionate and Certified 'Dance to Learn!'® Educator who cares about nurturing the success of each student at every turn. ​ The learning does not stop in the classroom. The 'Dance to Learn!'® at Home with Me™ Program is included in all classes. It stresses the important role parents and care givers play in the academic success of their children.  


Our Classes

Dance Exploration’s Florrie Flamingo© Ballet Class is a short 6 week introductory dance class for new dancers in the 'Dance to Learn!'® Curriculum program. Florrie Flamingo© is a hand illustrated Flittering Flamingo Character dancing among a background of bright and brilliant colors. She performs 26 Ballet and dance moves on oversized 4×6 Flash Cards with the associated Ballet Term written fluently on the front of each card. Florrie Flamingo© is designed to teach the ABC's of Dance to first time dancers. Florrie Flamingo© teaches basic dance and ballet movements. Florrie Flamingo© Ballet follows the 'Dance to Learn!'® Curriculum and is designed to teach the whole child through the 6 Methods of Dance™ which have been formed based on the stages of childhood development. The Florrie Flamingo© Ballet classes follow a progressive class structure. Students will learn the ABC's of Dance learning 26 Dance and Ballet movements as well as the associated ballet terminology. The moves are taught using creative and imaginative play as part of the ‘Dance to Discover!’™ Method. This keeps class exciting and makes the exercises more fun. The class begins with imaginative warm ups all designed to increase flexibility. After stretching, children move to the center where they use the Florrie Flamingo© Flash Cards as they learn 8 new dance moves each class. Florrie Flamingo© assists in proper technique while the teacher pays careful attention to hip, knee and toe alignment to ensure that children are turning out properly, this is primarily for injury prevention. Some movements performed by Florrie Flamingo© include pliés, tendus, degagés, relevés and passés which are learned during the Developing Skills part of class. Fun props such as Teddy Bears, Magic Wands, Hula Hoops and Scarves are used to make this part of class more fun, and to help children with association to learn the moves more quickly. Read More...

Dance Exploration, LLC's Creative Dance classes are designed as an interactive, play-time dance class with a goal to introduce dance and movement to preschool aged children. Our 'Dance to Learn!'® Curriculum has been designed with the whole child in mind and has been created around a child's cognitive, language, social and motor development to form the 6 Methods of Dance™. Each month, Dance Exploration designs the class around a new monthly theme to keep the classes fun and exciting as part of our 'Dance to Discover!™ method. The class structure remains the same with classes beginning with a warm up and stretches on the floor and slowly moving to standing. Next the dancers move Across the Floor. Movements consist of introductory movements such as tip toe walks, skips, marches, gallops and jumps. Movements are taught progressively to ensure mastery and proper execution as part of our 'Dance to Move!'™ method. The ‘Dance to Accept!’™ method was created to help children learn to accept the unique talents and differences of their peers. To encourage teamwork and peer relations, many of the exercises and activities include dancing with partners or in groups. Dance Exploration’s Pre-Ballet Class is for children who have mastered the basic dance movements taught in Creative Dance. Pre-Ballet follows the 'Dance to Learn!'® Curriculum and is designed to teach the whole child through the 6 Methods of Dance™ which have been formed based on the stages of childhood development. The Pre-Ballet classes follow a themed class structure, similar to Creative Dance, but places larger focus on beginning ballet movements as well as a greater emphasis on technique. Students will learn the five positions of the arms and feet, basic body positions, introductory ballet movements as well as ballet terminology. The moves are taught using creative and imaginative play as part of the ‘Dance to Discover!’™ Method. This keeps class exciting and makes the exercises more fun. The class is structured with the same warm ups and props used in the Creative Dance Classes, with some new movements and stretches added along the way, all designed to increase flexibility. After stretching, children move to the center where they must learn to balance and stand with their feet in the five basic turned out positions. Careful attention is placed on hip, knee and toe alignment to ensure that children are turning out properly, this is primarily for injury prevention. Dance Exploration’s Ballet/Tap Combo Class is perfect for children who want to be soft and graceful, but also enjoy making a lot of noise! The Dance Exploration, LLC Ballet/Tap Combo Class follows the 'Dance to Learn!'® Curriculum and is designed to teach the whole child through the 6 Methods of Dance™ which have been formed based on the stages of childhood development. Like Pre-Ballet and Creative Dance; Ballet/Tap combo classes follow a themed class structure which changes each month to keep class exciting as part of the ‘Dance to Discover!’™ Method. The first 30 minutes of class is focused on ballet movements. Students will learn the five positions of the arms and feet, basic body positions, introductory ballet movements as well as ballet terminology. After warming up, children move to the center where they must learn to balance and stand with their feet in the five basic turned out positions. Dance Exploration, LLC is excited to introduce our Teddy Bear Hip Hop Dance™ class. Based on the foundations of Jr Hip Hop, this class is designed especially for preschoolers to 1st graders. Founded on the principles of the 'Dance to Learn!'® Curriculum and the 6 Methods of Dance™, our Teddy Bear Hip Hop Dance™ Class is designed to teach the whole child. Each month, we pick a new storybook theme to keep classes and activities new and exciting each week. As part of the ‘Dance to Discover!’™ Method, our themed classes will help children associate the skills learned in class with day to day learning and easy association and conceptualization of the steps for better mastery. Teddy Bear Hip Hop Dance™ is an introduction to the urban street styles of dancing known commonly as Hip Hop. What makes the class unique is in the execution of the deliverance of dance steps. Each move will be taught using a stuffed animal, like a teddy bear, or similar prop to easily teach break dance moves and other hip hop genres. As classes progress dancers will be asked to perform dance moves that replicate a real life creature or event. For example when teaching isolations or robotics, we may utilize the imagery of a scarecrow to better teach the concepts. Dance Exploration’s Jr Cheerleading program is an introduction to cheerleading and poms. Designed around the ‘Dance to Learn!’® Curriculum, our Jr Cheerleading class is designed to teach the whole child through the 6 Methods of Dance™. The 6 Methods of Dance™ have been designed around the stages of childhood development- cognitive thinking and problem solving, gross and fine motor skills, social and language skills and emotional development. The ‘Dance to Accept!’™ method teaches children the importance of accepting each other’s unique talents and how those talents can help the team collectively. The concept of teamwork will be studied during each class! Activities are designed to encourage dancers to work and dance together seamlessly through formations as well as moving together in unison. Cheers/Poms will teach the fundamentals of cheerleading, combined with dancing with pom poms to create fun visual shapes for the audience. Class begins with stretches and warm ups including the basic arm positions of cheerleading and easy cheers and chants as heard on the sidelines. Center work will be themed based through Story Dance Exploration™. Concepts are based on the monthly theme and designed for a creative approach to concept and movement development. *Dance Exploration provides Free Trial Classes to all schools interested in booking a session with Dance Exploration, LLC. Free Trials are offered in two hour blocks. If you have a larger school that requires more than two hours of time, pelase contact us at 303-949-1975 to schedule your trial. After requesting your Trial Date, you will continue with scheduling your regular dance session. Along with your Free Trial, Dance Exploration also provides a Registration Celebration during Parent Pick Up Hours to encourage enrollment. Dance Exploration will distribute flyers and other marketing materials to students and families to encourage enrollment in the regular dance session. We cannot book a free trial with less than 72 hours notice.
